Tree is a high profile Fair Trade fashion label with mail order,
online, wholesale and retail operations in Britain and Japan. They work
with 50 Fair Trade groups in 7 developing countries to produce a stylish
collection that respects people and planet.
You
will be assisting the QC manager in measuring production garments and
also checking that the garments are of the highest standard. This will
include checking; buttons, zips finishes, seams and print quality etc.
Also on occasion you will be required to assist with repair work such as
unpicking and hand sewing labels into garments. You will be working on
your feet for most of the day; so if you have back problems this role
will not suit you.
You will need to have the following qualities and skills‐
- Attention to detail
- Good organisational skills
- Be a good team player
- Good time keeper
- Experience with measuring garments and an understanding of garment construction is a bonus
- Hand sewing skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
Your Responsibilities will be as follows;
- Measuring garments
- Noting measurements
- Checking that the quality of the garments comply with the company’s high standards
- Reporting any issues that may arise with your QC Manager
- We will need you to help with QC from mid‐January until mid‐February 2013.
- QC will take place at the People Tree head office in East London.
You will be given £30.00 in People tree gift vouchers for each day that you work.
Travel expenses under £12 will be given back to you.
Please wear sensible clothing as you will be on your feet all day.
